FAQs

  • Youth America Grand Prix is a non-profit international youth ballet and contemporary dance competition and scholarship program established in 1999.

  • Dancers must be at least 9 years of age to compete at YAGP. YAGP participants are divided into three age categories: Senior Age Category (15–19 years old), Junior Age Category (12–14 years old), and Pre-Competitive Age Category (9–11 years old).

  • Ballet competitions like the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) offer an appealing stage for showcasing talent, receiving feedback from esteemed judges, and gaining visibility.

  • Currently, rehearsals are on Thursdays from 5:00 to 5:30 pm. Dancers will be asked to schedule additional private lessons to learn and clean the variation with our School Director.

  • To participate in YAGP’s Classical Ballet category, the school director will select a variation from the approved variations list for the 2025 season for the dancer's skill level.

  • Your dancer will participate in a regional YAGP competition (location to be announced). If selected by the judges at regionals, they will have the opportunity to attend the finals. Additionally, dancers can perform with their select competition team, either locally or at traveling events, where they can compete with their variation. 417 Dancers will also have the opportunity to perform at local events for our community.
